What The Demigod Files is about
A companion volume for readers who already love the Percy Jackson series, published in February 2009. It slots in between the fourth novel, The Battle of the Labyrinth, and the fifth, The Last Olympian. Three short stories lead the way: a stolen chariot, a bronze dragon and a sword belonging to Hades. The rest is presented as a bundle of top-secret camp files, with a note from Rick Riordan in his role as Camp Half-Blood's scribe and mock interviews with some of the campers. There is also a spotter's guide to monsters, a who's who of Greek mythology, Percy's summer camp report, a crossword and a sneak peek at the next novel. Antonio Caparo drew the character designs. The tone is playful and jokey, and it works best as a treat for fans who want a little more time at camp.
