Smarter Picks and your reading profile

Picks now work one book at a time and learn from what you tell them. My taste gets a profile that explains how BookWard sees you, and you can correct it.

  • New Picks show one book at a time with an Up next list beside it, and the list refills on its own.
  • New "Already read it" on any pick puts it on your Read shelf and opens it ready to rate.
  • New "Not for me" now asks why, in a tap or in your own words, and future picks learn from your answer. Review the books you passed on any time.
  • New Your reading profile on the My taste page: a short portrait of how you read, with charts. Tell BookWard what it got wrong and it will remember.
  • Improved The Top 100 personalized list now shows only the books that truly match what you asked for, instead of padding the list.
  • Improved Genre filters on the Top 100 page are real links to each genre's own page, and still filter instantly.
  • New This What's new page, with a place to send us your ideas.

The BookWard website

bookward.ai is now a full website you can explore before you sign up.

  • New The monthly Top 100 Books list, ranked by the BookWard Score, with a preview of every book.
  • New Tell BookWard what you like and get a personalized list from the Top 100.
  • New Ask BookWard: type a question about the product on the home or FAQ page and get an answer.
  • New Guides for the book tracker, Book Companions, recommendations, and importing from Goodreads.
  • New Privacy policy and terms of service.

BookWard gets its own home

The app moved to app.bookward.ai with real accounts, so every reader has a private shelf.

  • New Sign up with your email, with password reset if you forget it.
  • New Real book matching: every book you add is matched to a real record with its cover, author, and first-published year.
  • New A cover wall view of your shelf, and Read a sample for books with a public preview.
  • New Import from Goodreads or StoryGraph, or paste a list of titles.
  • Improved Book Companions, summaries, and picks run on BookWard's own servers, with a fair daily limit on AI requests.
