What The Court of the Dead is about

Three months after the demigods' descent into Tartarus, Camp Jupiter has taken in an unusual group of refugees: monsters who have asked for sanctuary. Among them are the Minotaur Asterion, a blemmyae, a karpos, an empousa, a gryphon and an eidolon. The Roman legion is used to hunting and being hunted by mythics, and Nico and Will have to deal with a great deal of backlash from the legion as they try to help the mythics settle in.

Nico di Angelo, son of Hades, and Will Solace, son of Apollo, find themselves at the center of the tension, alongside Hazel Levesque. Then the newcomers start disappearing, each one after a night of troubling dreams about standing trial. Tracking down who is behind it leads the group toward a tribunal whose leaders have their own designs on Hades's realm. Co-written by Rick Riordan and Mark Oshiro, this middle grade fantasy follows The Sun and the Star and explores belonging, prejudice toward outsiders, family ties and the pull of revenge. Readers who enjoy Greek and Roman myth with a modern, inclusive spirit will feel at home.
