What The Secret of Secrets is about

Robert Langdon is in Prague, where his girlfriend Katherine Solomon, a noetic scientist, is lecturing on human consciousness. When he evacuates their hotel, certain an explosion is coming, the threat proves false, and he ends up detained by a state security captain named Janáček. Soon a scientist, Brigita Gessner, is found dead in her laboratory at Crucifix Bastion.

Behind the scenes, an organisation called In-Q-Tel, led by former CIA agent Everett Finch, runs an underground facility in Prague and watches Katherine's forthcoming book closely. Its argument is that consciousness may not be confined to the brain and could persist after death. A figure calling himself the Golěm claims to protect a woman named Sasha Vesna, and people are killed. This is the sixth Langdon adventure, built around puzzles, secrecy and the old tension between science and mysticism. It suits readers who like their suspense fast and clever.

How we know

This page uses public data: Open Library reader counts and ratings, and Wikipedia page views. The description is paraphrased from real source text (Open Library or Wikipedia).
