What Point Blanc is about
Alex Rider is back in the spy business, and this time he has no choice. MI6's chief, Alan Blunt, pressures him into looking into the deaths of two powerful men: an American billionaire killed in his New York office and a general. The only thing connecting them is that each had a rebellious son at Point Blanc Academy, a school run by Dr Hugo Grief.
Alex slips in under a false name as the supposed son of a supermarket tycoon. Among the boys he meets is James Sprintz, who dreams of escaping by skiing down the Alps. Something at the school is off, and the pupils seem oddly changed. Anthony Horowitz writes in the second Alex Rider adventure with plenty of action, disguise and daring. It will suit young readers who want a teenage hero, a snowy fortress and a mystery with real stakes.
