What Romancing Mister Bridgerton is about

Penelope Featherington has loved Colin Bridgerton since 1812, when she was almost sixteen and accidentally knocked him off his horse into a puddle. In 1817 she overheard him tell his brothers he was certainly not going to marry her. By 1824 she is twenty-eight, considered a spinster, and her unpleasant mother Portia hints that the two of them will grow old together.

Colin, the third eldest Bridgerton child, has spent years traveling because he feels restless and unsure of his purpose. Penelope is the one who urges him to publish his travel journals. Meanwhile, all of Regency London is buzzing over Lady Whistledown's gossip paper, and Lady Danbury has offered £1000 to whoever can unmask its writer. This fourth Bridgerton novel is a story of long-held feelings, secrets and the pressure to marry.
