What Rising Storm is about

In the fourth Warriors novel, written by Kate Cary under the Erin Hunter name, four Clans of wild cats share a forest: ThunderClan, WindClan, RiverClan and ShadowClan. The setting is based on the New Forest in southern England. Fireheart is now ThunderClan's deputy, and he is still haunted by the former deputy, Tigerclaw.

Tigerclaw's betrayal has left the Clan leader Bluestar paranoid, trusting only senior warriors and cats not born in the Clan. Fireheart also has to handle his disrespectful nephew and apprentice Cloudpaw, who ignores orders to stay away from Twolegs, and he misses his best friend Graystripe, who left to live in RiverClan. The forest grows hotter as summer drags on. Reviews were mixed: reviewers praised the suspense and cliffhanger ending, but some criticized the growing number of characters and the lack of humor and depth.
