What Oathbringer is about

The third Stormlight Archive novel opens a world in upheaval. The Parshendi have summoned the Everstorm, a violent force that sweeps across the land and wakes the parshmen to the fact that humans have enslaved them for thousands of years. Kaladin Stormblessed hurries to warn his family and must face the possibility that the parshmen's anger is justified. Shallan Davar explores Urithiru, the ancient Knights Radiant stronghold, and finds dark secrets in its depths. Dalinar Kholin comes to see that his plan to unite Alethkar is far too narrow, and a vision teaches him something startling about the Almighty, whose name was Honor. Meanwhile the murder of Torol Sadeas leaves his followers suspicious of the Kholin family.

Brandon Sanderson's epic fantasy weighs duty, memory and trauma against questions of justice. It follows Words of Radiance, so new readers should begin earlier in the series.
