What Fallen (Fallen #1) is about
Luce Price arrives at Sword & Cross Reform School in Savannah, Georgia, after being accused of murder. She remembers kissing a boy named Trevor, who then burst into flames, and she cannot explain what happened. She has also seen ink-like smudges, which she calls the Shadows, since childhood. At the school she meets Daniel Grigori, and she feels strangely drawn to him, certain they have met before. Cam, a boy sent to the school for the second time, competes with Daniel for her attention.
The first book in a series of six, this young adult paranormal romance weaves together fallen angels, religion and reincarnation. Many of the students are not what they seem, and the secrets around Luce and Daniel run deeper than a single lifetime. The mood is brooding and romantic, with a steady current of suspense, and it will suit readers who like forbidden love tangled up with questions of fate.
