What Big Nate Strikes Again is about
Nate calls himself a genius, and he would be the first to tell you he is not the teacher's pet. His least favorite teacher, Mrs. Godfrey, also known as Godzilla, has assigned a class project, and Nate is paired with Gina, his all-time enemy. That would be bad enough on its own, but Gina also lands on his fleeceball team, just as Nate is closing in on his first championship ever.
Now he has to wonder whether Gina will steal his thunder or wreck everything, and whether another trip to detention is waiting around the corner. Told as a comic-strip novel, this is a funny look at school rivalries and competition, and it suits anyone who has ever spent time in middle school.
