What The Well of Ascension is about
The Lord Ruler, who claimed to be a god and ruled for a thousand years, has fallen, and the hero who planned his defeat, Kelsier, is dead. Now Vin, a former street urchin and the most powerful Mistborn in the land, must deal with what comes after. She loves an idealistic young nobleman, and she is uneasy about a budding religion that honors her as Kelsier's protégé and the slayer of the Lord Ruler. The mists themselves are acting strangely, and something in them seems to haunt her. In Luthadel, the largest city of the former empire, Vin and Kelsier's crew must learn practical and political skills just to keep the city running, while three armies, one made up of ferocious giants, close in to conquer it. Epic in scale but often introspective, this sequel looks at leadership, power and responsibility, and at faith and doubt.
