What The Titan's Curse is about
Percy Jackson, a fourteen-year-old demigod, is back in the third book of the series, which follows The Sea of Monsters. This time he, his friend Annabeth Chase and Thalia travel to a boarding school to collect two siblings, Bianca and Nico di Angelo, and bring them to Camp Half-Blood. The trip goes badly when the manticore Dr. Thorn captures Annabeth. Elsewhere, the goddess Artemis heads off alone to hunt a monster that could destroy Mount Olympus if the wrong hands got hold of it.
A quest takes shape that crosses the United States, from Washington D.C. to New Mexico, Arizona and San Francisco, with Mount Othrys as the destination. Along the way Percy rescues a strange creature he nicknames Bessie. Based on Greek mythology, it mixes humour, tension and loyalty between friends, and it suits younger readers who already know the series.
