What The Serpent's Shadow is about
Carter and Sadie Kane face their biggest task yet: stopping Apophis, the chaos snake, for good. In three days he is set to rise and destroy the world. The magicians of the House of Life are close to civil war, and the gods cannot agree among themselves. The siblings' one hope is an ancient spell that could turn the serpent's shadow into a weapon, though it has been lost for a millennium.
To find it, they must trust the murderous ghost of a powerful magician to guide them. Familiar faces, including Walt, Zia, Amos, Bes, Bast, and Anubis, return for this third and final book of The Kane Chronicles, while the sly magician Setne adds trouble of his own. Drawing on Egyptian mythology, the story moves fast and has a sense of humor, and it is about family, courage, sacrifice, and getting divided allies to stand together.
