What Dragonfly in Amber is about
Claire Randall has lived twenty years with her husband Frank, who has since died, and she brings her daughter Brianna to Scotland. With help from Roger, the adopted son of Reverend Reginald Wakefield, she looks into what became of the men of Lallybroch after Culloden. The story then moves back to her other life, in the eighteenth century with her Highlander husband Jamie Fraser. In Paris, the two use Jamie's cousin's wine business to make connections, hoping to head off the Jacobite rising that Claire knows will end badly for the Scots. Duels, imprisonment, grief, and a return to Lallybroch follow.
This second Outlander novel blends historical fiction, romance, adventure, and fantasy in a sweeping, romantic style.
