What Clockwork Angel is about

Tessa Gray sails to Victorian England to find her brother, only to land in the hidden, dangerous corners of London known as the Downworld. The Dark sisters, who belong to a secret society called the Pandemonium club, take her captive. There she makes a startling discovery: she can transform herself into another person. The club's shadowy leader, the Magister, wants that gift for himself.

On the run and without friends, Tessa finds shelter with the Shadowhunters, warriors sworn to rid the world of demons. She soon finds herself drawn to two close friends, James and Will, while a plot against her new allies takes shape. Cassandra Clare mixes gothic atmosphere, romance and adventure, and sets a sister's loyalty against the pull of new friendships. It will appeal to readers who like a hidden world, a heroine finding her own power, and a love triangle.
