What Can You Keep a Secret? is about
Emma Corrigan lives in London, works at the cola company Panther Cola and is trying hard to move up the corporate ladder. Her relationship with the seemingly perfect Connor is steady but dull, and she keeps plenty of small things hidden: she is a size twelve, not the size eight he believes, she faked her Maths GCSE grade on her CV, and she has no idea what NATO stands for.
Then her plane hits turbulence, she is sure the end has come, and she pours out every inner secret to the stranger in the next seat. He turns up later at her office, and he turns out to be the company's founder. Sophie Kinsella's first stand-alone novel, first published in 2003, is a comedy of embarrassment and honesty. It will appeal to readers who enjoy workplace romance and a heroine who longs for a change in her life.
