What Almost Heaven is about

Elizabeth Cameron, Countess of Havenhurst, is admired for her gentleness, her courage and her beauty, until she is found in the arms of Ian Thornton and her good name collapses. Ian is a gambler on the fringes of polite society, and behind his roguish front sit hidden wealth and a murky family past. What draws him to Elizabeth is tangled up with intrigue, scandal and a bitter desire for revenge.

Neither trusts the other's reasons, and their attraction plays out as a push and pull of suspicion and longing. The story travels from London's drawing rooms to the Scottish Highlands, and Elizabeth must work out whether Ian is simply a hard man chasing a fortune. This is the third book in McNaught's Sequels series, suited to readers who enjoy historical romance with a wounded heart at its centre.
