What A Thousand Boy Kisses is about

Poppy Litchfield and Rune Kristiansen have been close since early childhood. Before her grandmother dies, Poppy promises to live life to the fullest and to keep a record of a thousand kisses, each one saved as a cherry blossom petal in a jar. At fifteen, Rune's family moves back to his native Norway, and the two lose touch.

At seventeen, Rune comes back to Blossom Grove, Georgia, hurt that Poppy cut him off without any explanation. As they find their way toward each other again, he learns the reason: Poppy has a terminal illness. Tillie Cole writes a tender story of first love shaped by time, distance and loss. It is marketed as a standalone young adult tearjerker for ages 14 and up, and readers who enjoy a good cry over young love will find plenty here.
