Every hundred years, the island of Lightlark appears for the Centennial, a contest only the rulers of six realms may enter. Each realm carries a curse that has lasted centuries, and the game is their last chance to lift them, though breaking the curses demands that one ruler die. Everyone arrives with something to conceal.
Isla Crown, the young ruler of Wildling, has more at stake than most. Her people are cursed to kill whoever they love, and they are feared and shunned for it. They are relying on her to win. To live through the Centennial she will have to lie, cheat and betray, and an unexpected love makes every choice harder. A dark, romantic fantasy with high stakes.
