What Things We Never Got over is about
Knox is a bearded barber with a bad-boy reputation who likes living alone, much the way he likes his coffee. His only company is a basset hound named Waylon. Naomi, meanwhile, has just run out on her own wedding to rescue her estranged twin, Tina. Tina repays her by taking Naomi's car and cash, and leaves behind an 11-year-old niece Naomi never knew existed.
Now Naomi is stranded in Knockemout, Virginia, a rough-around-the-edges town where arguments get settled with fists and beer. She has no car, no job, no plan, and no home. Knox claims he does not do complications or high-maintenance women, yet he decides to help her out of her jam. Things grow more serious when the trouble turns dangerous. It is a small-town romance about unexpected family and starting over, a good fit for readers who enjoy a grumpy hero and a warm, messy found household.
