Funny Story

What Funny Story is about

Daphne Vincent is a children's librarian who left her old life behind to settle in Michigan with her fiancé, Peter. Then, not long before the wedding, he ends things and chooses his longtime friend Petra instead. Stranded in a town she barely knows, Daphne ends up renting a room from Miles Nowak, Petra's jilted boyfriend.

The two decide to bluff their way through the awkwardness by telling Peter they are a couple. Along the way Miles shows her around, and a real friendship begins to form, widened by Daphne's coworker Ashleigh and Miles's younger sister Julia. Daphne still plans to leave once her library's all-night Read-a-Thon is over, and a visit from her unreliable father adds another wrinkle. Light, witty and warm, it suits readers who like a romance about picking yourself up and finding people who make a place feel like home.
