Death's End is the third and final book in Cixin Liu's Three-Body Problem series, written by the author often called China's bestselling and best-loved science fiction writer. The first book won the Hugo and Nebula Awards, the first translated novel to take a major SF prize. This volume opens half a century after the Doomsday Battle, in an Earth that seems to have found a fragile peace. Dark Forest Deterrence holds the Trisolaran invaders at bay, and the knowledge they have shared has brought unprecedented prosperity. Human science moves forward daily, and the Trisolarans are taking up Earth culture. The book looks at how two civilizations might live side by side when deterrence is the only thing between them and mutual destruction. It is best read after the first two books, and it suits readers who like big scientific ideas.
