What Crown of Midnight is about
Celaena Sardothien is eighteen, an assassin, and newly crowned as the king's own. She earned the title by winning his contest, after a year of brutal labor in the Salt Mines of Endovier. Yet she owes the crown nothing. She hides that from everyone, even the people closest to her, and plays a careful, risky game of seeming to carry out his orders.
Then she is handed a task that could cost her everything she has grown to love. Meanwhile, dangerous forces are gathering on the horizon, threatening her whole world. The story turns on one question: where do her loyalties truly lie, and who is she ready to fight for? Fans of fantasy with sharp-edged heroines, divided allegiances, and moral tangles will find plenty here.
