Tessa Young arrives at Washington State University as a freshman with a steady boyfriend, Noah, and a conservative mother, Carol, who has firm ideas about how her daughter should live. Then she meets Hardin Scott, a tattooed student who is rude to her from the start. A friendship with Landon Gibson, an English major, draws her further into Hardin's circle, and Hardin's father, the college chancellor, helps her land an internship at Vance's Publishing.
Hardin keeps insisting he doesn't date, and each time he pushes Tessa away it hurts. Her mother, meanwhile, demands she stay away from him or be cut off. Dramatic, steamy and emotional, the story follows a good girl and a bad boy, the pull of a turbulent romance, and a young woman testing her independence. It began life as a Wattpad story before becoming the first book in a series.
