What One for the Money is about

Stephanie Plum has lost her job buying lingerie for a department store, and the bills are piling up fast. With few options left, she asks her family for help and lands a position at her cousin Vinnie's bail bonds office, even though he is hardly a model of respectability and she knows nothing about the trade. Her first assignment is to track down a local vice cop who skipped court, and the man in question is Joe Morelli, who is wanted for murder. Stephanie has history with him, too: she once hit him with her father's Buick. Set in Trenton, New Jersey, this 1994 novel mixes money worries, family pressure, and some prickly romantic tension into a sassy, quick-moving comic crime story.
