That is the average of 449 reader ratings on Open Library (4.02), adjusted toward the typical book so that a small number of ratings cannot inflate it. How this rating works
BookWard’s rating is calculated, not hand-scored. We take the average rating readers have given the book on Open Library and adjust it toward the typical book: adjusted = (n × average + 25 × 3.8) ÷ (n + 25), where n is the number of ratings. A book needs at least 50 ratings to be rated. The rating reflects how readers received the book, not whether it is right for you. Your own ratings on your shelf are private and are not part of this number.

About A Court of Mist and Fury
What it’s about
Feyre has survived terrible trials, and the cost is still with her. Granted the powers and long life of the High Fae, she is nonetheless haunted by her time Under the Mountain and by the terrible things she did to save Tamlin and his people. With her wedding to him drawing closer, she feels hollow, and nightmares eat away at her.
She is also living a divided life. One version of Feyre keeps her bargain with Rhysand, High Lord of the Night Court. The other stays in the Spring Court with Tamlin. Between them lies a dark tangle of politics, desire and startling power, and a greater threat is gathering that she may be the key to stopping. This second book in the series is a romantic, dark fantasy about trauma, recovery and who we choose to become.
