What Find Me is about
Find Me returns to the world of Call Me By Your Name, following Samuel Perlman, his son Elio, and Oliver. It is told in four parts named Tempo, Cadenza, Capriccio, and Da capo, each from a different character's point of view.
In 1993, Samuel, a divorced scholar of classical literature, takes a train to Rome to visit Elio, a gifted pianist. On board he meets a young woman named Miranda, and the two connect at once. By 1998 Elio is a concert pianist and teacher in Paris, where he begins a relationship with Michel after a quartet recital in a church. Michel shows him a mysterious sonata, but Elio is still tied to his memories of Oliver, and he is planning a tour of the United States with a reunion in mind. The writing is lyrical and wistful, a story about desire, music, memory, and the way old loves linger.
