What Credence is about
Tiernan de Haas has money, a famous family and almost no one who ever cared where she was. Her father was a film producer and her mother a starlet, and she was shipped off to boarding schools from an early age. When both parents die without warning, she is left with a single relative, her father's stepbrother Jake Van der Berg.
Two months before her eighteenth birthday, she moves in with him and his sons, Noah and Kaleb, deep in the Colorado mountains, far from everything she knew. The men show her how to work, and how to stay alive, in the woods. Little by little she finds a place among them, even as the usual boundaries start to loosen. It is aimed at adult readers who like intense, secluded stories.
